2023年がスタートしてもう3日目ですね。

日本では明日からお仕事スタートの方々もたくさんいらっしゃると思いますが、今年も頑張ってくださいね。 

I am sure there will be many people who will start work tomorrow in Japan, but please do your best this year as well. 

僕もいろんなとこに飛び回って新しい情報を吸収していくつもりです。

I also plan to fly around and absorb new information.

ただ書斎で座ってるだけでは・・・・

初詣には近くの神社に行きましたが、もう２か所くらいは回ってみましょう。

I went to a nearby shrine for my first visit, but let's go around two more places.

寒い冬は温泉ですね。 " Hot springs are the best in the cold winter. "

先週の厳しい寒波も今週は少し緩んでますが、また年明け早々に次の寒波がやってくるとのことです。

やはり、寒い時は温泉に入って見も心も温めたいですね。

写真は大分県別府市、温泉の街です。 

Last week's severe cold wave has eased a little this week, but the next cold wave will come early in the year.

After all, when it is cold, I want to go to the hot spring to warm my eyes and heart.

大規模な温泉街があって鉄輪などは常に湯煙に覆われています。

There is a large hot spring town, and the iron wheels are "Kannawa" covered with hot water smoke.

地獄と呼ばれている源泉の出ている池がいくつもあって、赤・白・青といろんな色の煮えたぎった池があります。

There are many ponds that spring from the source called hell, and there are boiling ponds of various colors such as red, white, and blue.

九州は火山島ですから、何処に行っても温泉がありますが。

別府にはここ20年ほどご無沙汰をしていますので、近いうちに訪ねてみたい場所です。

Kyushu is a volcanic island, so there are hot springs everywhere you go.

I haven't been in Beppu for about 20 years, so I would like to visit it soon.

どうやら名実ともにWhite Christmasなんですね。

COVID-19まん延の波がまた襲い掛かり、いつまでも収束しそうにありませんね。

 The wave of the spread of COVID-19 is hitting again, and it doesn't seem to be going to end forever.

寒空に、イルミネーションだけがきらびやかに輝いています。

In the cold sky, only the illuminations shine glitteringly.

夜は0℃近くになり、冷たい風が強く吹き荒れる日が多くなりました。

At night, the temperature dropped to nearly 0°C, and there were many days when cold winds blew strongly.

我が家のの花壇のハイビスカスはこんなに寒くても綺麗な花を咲かせてくれてます。

だから寒さで枯れないように簡易温室を作ってあげました。

The hibiscus in our flower bed blooms beautifully even when it is so cold.

That's why I made a simple greenhouse so that it would not wither from the cold.

何とかこの冬を乗り越えてください。

Get through this winter somehow.

２本植えたハイビスカスの木の片方は１か月前から花は咲きません、小ぶりですがまだ葉っぱは元気なので、こちらにも簡易温室をしつらえました。

One of the two hibiscus trees I planted has not bloomed for a month, and although it is small, the leaves are still healthy, so I set up a simple greenhouse here as well.

ウィルスまん延に、侵略戦争が重なり、物価は上がり不景気の波まで押し寄せて来そうですが、くじけずに素敵なクリスマスをお過ごしください。

The spread of the virus and the war of aggression are likely to overlap, and prices will rise and the wave of recession will come rushing in, but please do not be discouraged and have a wonderful Christmas.

来年は素敵な年が訪れますように、(#^^#)

大阪と東京 " Osaka and Tokyo "

僕は仕事の関係で、東京と大阪どちらにも住んだことがあります。

Due to my work, I have lived in both Tokyo and Osaka.

最近まで、大阪城のことをたくさん投稿してきましたが、住んでいる所も仕事場もすぐ近くでした。 

Until recently, I had posted a lot about Osaka Castle, but it was very close to where I live and work. 

大阪城は緑が少ないと言われてますが。大阪城周辺は緑がいっぱいでした。

It is said that Osaka Castle has little greenery. The area around Osaka Castle was full of greenery.

写真を撮って気づいたのですが、お堀に段差がありました。

When I took the picture, I noticed that there was a step in the moat.

これからまた、大阪城も観光客が増えてくるんでしょうね。

I think the number of tourists to Osaka Castle will increase again in the future.

東京に住んだのは2回、最初は(若い頃に)小平市に住んでいて、会社から戸建ての家を借りてもらってました、都心のオフィスまで通勤に歩きもいれて40分ほどでした。

I've lived in Tokyo twice, the first time (when I was younger) in Kodaira City, where I rented a detached house from my company, and it was about a 40-minute walk to my office in the city center.

外資系の会社を任されている時は、住まいは六本木一丁目のマンション。

When I am in charge of a foreign-affiliated company, I live in an apartment in Roppongi 1-chome.

皇居も歩いて行ける近さで、この周辺はよく歩き回ってました。

The Imperial Palace was also close to walking, and I often walked around this area.

都会のど真ん中に住んでも緑の多い場所だったのは幸せでした。

I was happy that even if I lived in the middle of the city, it was a place with a lot of greenery.

イルミネーション " illumination!! "

12月に入って、どの町でもイルミネーションを飾り派手に夜の街を着飾らせている。

In December, every town is decorated with illuminations and the streets at night are dressed up in a flashy manner.

先週末に、３歳の孫娘を連れて近くのイルミネーションを見に行きました

Last weekend, I took my 3-year-old granddaughter to see the nearby illuminations.

寒いので、そろそろ帰ろうと言っても、孫娘は跳ね回り寒いのを忘れているようでした。

It was cold, so even though I said it was time to leave, my granddaughter seemed to forget that it was cold around and was cold.

１０年前は僕は長崎のハウステンボスのある所に住んでいました。

Ten years ago, I lived in Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki.

10,000,000球のLEDで飾られているとかで、その当時は日本でもトップクラスのイルミネーションと言われてました。

It is decorated with 10,000,000 LEDs, and at that time it was said to be one of the top illuminations in the Japan.

独り身の僕はその素晴らしい夜景を毎日楽しませてもらってました。

As a single person, I enjoyed the wonderful night view every day.
 

山を下ります「徳島・剣山」 " Going down the mountain "Tokushima Tsurugisan" "

剣山山頂から降りていきます。

We will descend from the top of Tsurugisan.

晩秋なのに頂上はまだ緑色だった。

Even though it was late autumn, the summit was still green.

200mくらい下ってからリフトに乗ってさらに下っていきます。

After descending about 200m, take the lift and go further down.

降りていくと残りの紅葉が見え始めます。

As you descend, you will begin to see the remaining autumn leaves.

枯葉と紅葉が入り混じった地帯。

A zone where dead leaves and autumn leaves are mixed.

向こうには曲がりくねった道路が山の斜面を横に走っています。

Beyond, a winding road runs sideways along the slopes of the mountains.

徳島、剣山から② " From Tokushima, Top of Tsurugisan #2 "

先日、20日にアップした剣山頂上からの眺めの続きです。

This is a continuation of the view from the top of Kenzan that I uploaded the other day on the 20th.

東側の谷合を観ると川が見えます。

If you look at the valley on the east side, you can see the river.

拡大をしてみると川の脇に田んぼがあり、いくつかの集落も見えます。

If you zoom in, you can see rice fields beside the river and some villages.

また南側に目を移すとずっとずっと向こうまで山並みが続いています。

Also, if you look at the south side, the mountains continue all the way to the other side.

 

秋の日の、青い空と濃い緑の森は、いつでも心を癒してくれます。

The blue sky and dark green forest on an autumn day are always soothing.

ホテルの窓から・・・ここは何処でしょう? " From the hotel window... where is this place? "

ホテルの窓から見下ろすと小さな船がたくさん停泊している。

Looking down from the hotel window, there are many small boats moored.

川べりは向こう側にもたくさん小舟が停泊している。

There are many small boats anchored on the other side of the riverbank.

ある街の夕方の風景です。

It is an evening landscape of a certain city.

さて、ここは何処の街でしょうか?

ロビーに飾ってあるもので分かるかな?

街の向こうは小高い山があって、頂上にはアンテナタワーがいくつか立っている。

Beyond the city is a small mountain, and there are several antenna towers at the top.

はい、正解は徳島市。

Yes, the correct answer is Tokushima City.

徳島、剣山から " From Tokushima, Tsurugisan. "

秋の空は真っ青に晴れ渡っている。

The autumn sky is clear and blue.

山頂に立って自撮りをしている。

この辺りは四国の屋根と言われている場所でしょうか?

Is this area said to be the "roof of Shikoku"?

この方向(西側)約90Kmくらい向こうに石鎚山があります。

About 90km away in this direction (west side) is Mt. Ishizuchi.

頂上ヒュッテ横にある大岩、上に小さな社がある。

There is a large rock next to the summit hutte and a small shrine on top.

東を向いているので、ずっと向こうに徳島市があり、その向こうは本州の和歌山県。

Since it faces east, Tokushima City is all the way away, and beyond that is Wakayama Prefecture on Honshu(Main Island).

山頂から北側に向かって、ずっと向こうに瀬戸内海があるんでしょうね。

From the summit to the north, there must be the Seto Inland Sea all the way beyond.

この辺りはもう紅葉も終わってますが、常緑樹もたくさんありますね。

The autumn leaves have already finished around here, but there are many evergreen trees.

南側に向かってます、あのずっと向こう側は高知の室戸岬があり、その先は太平洋です。

Heading south, far beyond that is Cape Muroto in Kochi, and beyond that is the Pacific Ocean.

来月のクリスマスあたりになるとこの辺りも雪で白く覆われるのでしょうね。

Around Christmas next month, this area will be covered in white with snow.
