しまなみ海道 "Shimanami-Kai-Do(Seaside road)"

今日は四国と広島を繋ぐ橋「しまなみ海道(西瀬戸自動車道)」を

The "Shimanami-Kai-Do"as a stripe where today connects Hiroshima to Shikoku (Nishiseto-jidoushadou).

最初は来島海峡大橋、手前の島が馬島、向こう側の島が大島

The island where Kurushima Kaikyo Ohashi(Big Bridge) and the front island are Umashima and the other side at the beginning is Oshima.

僕が通ったときは車が少なかった、脇に自転車が通れる側道もあった

When I passed, there is also a byway where a bicycle can also run to both sides where I had few cars.

次の写真は伯方島の北側からの景色、橋の向こうに見えるのが広島県だと思います

この辺は村上水軍(海賊)の本拠地だったそうです

It's said that this neighborhood was a home base of a Murakami fleet (pirate).

いまでも航行が大変なのに、数百年も昔から小さな海賊船でこのあたりの島々や船を襲っていたんですね。

Though sailing was serious even now, islands around here and a ship were being also attacked by small pirate ship from the past for hundreds of years, weren't they?
